Insectarium!

Can someone help me identify this spider? He/She lives in my apartment before I moved in. He/she is really big! When I was a kid, I normally play with Daddy Long Legs and the common spiders found in the houses here in the Philippines. Most of the time, I play with the spiders and compete with the other kids so normally I am not scared of spiders. Except for this one, it’s huge and I am not even sure if it’s poisonous!

I decided to take a picture of this big spider and suppressed the first notion of killing it. Killing the spider could mean bad karma for me and it’s not doing anything at me anyway. At least the spider didn’t jump over me or run away as I took pictures of him/her. I think the distance between the spider and my camera is about 9 inches. I think this spider wants to be photographed.
I haven’t seen this spider since I took this photograph. Though I saw one spider that looks like him/her but the thorax is a little creamier and another smaller version of it. I even saw another spider of the same kind as I am writing this post! Are they making spider babies? I live in a spider sex den! waaa!!!

Sorry I can’t identify that specie of spider. But I killed one like it last night in my apartment. My roommate whacked an even larger one a month ago. Well, the spider bodies aren’t large, bu they have long, long legs so that in total they are larger than a man’s hand. They were fuzzy and were “tarantulas” according to my friends. I refer to my apartment (bottom floor of a house in Tuding) as “Animal Planet,” as I have about a dozen types of insects coming in to keep me company. Some I have never seen in the U.S.

@Brian
Oh don’t kill it. They are not poisonous. They actually eat cockroaches and my apartment doesn’t have any roaches.
@whitecarrotman
